Workplace Delegates Rights

At a glance (Summary)

A workplace delegate is an employee appointed or elected under union rules to represent union members in the workplace. Delegates connect union officials with members and help unite colleagues around common goals. In 2023, the Fair Work Act was amended to give delegates specific rights and protections, including reasonable paid training, reasonable communication with members and eligible employees, access to facilities, and the right to represent members and those eligible to be members.
