At a glance (Summary)
Psychosocial hazards are aspects of work that can cause psychological (and physical) harm. They are a serious WHS/OHS issue and must be managed like any other workplace hazard. Employers have a duty to identify and then, so far as is reasonably practicable, eliminate or minimise them.
- There are 14 common psychosocial hazards (see Section 2).
- Workers should be able to raise concerns and expect risk controls to be implemented.
- Key steps: identify hazards, collect evidence, assess risks, control risks, and review controls.
