- Do I need to do anything before I apply? Not formally, but a preliminary chat with your manager can surface issues and solutions.
- What if I’m not eligible? You can still make an informal request — many employers will consider it.
- What must the employer’s refusal letter include? It should set out the discussions held, why agreement couldn’t be reached, the reasonable business grounds for refusal, and any alternatives considered.
