Workplace Restructuring, Change and Consultation

At a glance (Summary)

A restructure can change team sizes, reporting lines, positions, technology or processes, and may (but doesn’t always) lead to job losses. Employers generally can restructure, but where an award, enterprise agreement or policy requires consultation, they must consult affected employees before making major workplace changes. Keep records, seek details in writing, and engage promptly in any consultation process.
